man once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of God.

Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying nearby. Surprised, he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statues of the same idol?"

"No," said the sculptor without looking up, "We need   only one, but the first one got damaged at the
 last stage."

The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage. "Where is the damage?" he asked.

"There is a scratch on the nose of the idol." said the sculptor, still busy with his work.

"Where are you going to install the idol?"
The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar twenty feet high.

"If the idol is that far, who is going to
know that there is a scratch on the nose?" the gentleman asked.
The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said, "I will know it."
The desire to excel is exclusive of the fact whether someone else appreciates it or not.
"Excellence" is a drive from inside, not outside.
Excellence is not for someone else to notice but for your own satisfaction and excellence

#BeautyofVolunteerism:My TV Interview on Volunteerism

Volunteerism in Kenya is gaining traction and I am happy to have been part of this journey (read my story on how I began volunteering at 16 years here ) . A few days ago the President Uhuru Kenyatta invited Kenyans to offer volunteer services on December 5th as part of celebrations to mark International Volunteer Day . Very soon we will be launching the national volunteerism policy. All these developments herald a new dawn for the volunteerism sector in the country. I sat down with KBC Tv's Sam to discuss these new developments and what they mean for the country. Watch the interview and share your thoughts. Kenya is among the few African countries to come up with a homegrown volunteerism policy. The policy aims to not only recognize volunteerism and its contribution to GDP but also celebrate and protect the rights of volunteers, volunteer involving organizations and beneficiaries. A copy of the policy is available on the Ministry of Labor website http://www.labour.go.ke/reso...

The higher you go in the corporate structure, the smaller your balls become.

INTERESTING OBSERVATION WITH BALLS!! 1 The sport of choice for the urban poor is SOCCER. 2 The sport of choice for maintenance level employees is BASKETBALL. 3 The sport of choice for front-line workers is RUGBY . 4 The sport of choice for supervisors is CRICKET. 5 The sport of choice for middle management is TENNIS. And.... 6 The sport of choice for corporate executives and officers is GOLF. THE AMAZING CONCLUSION: The higher you go in the corporate structure, the smaller your balls become. There must be a ton of people in the Government playing marbles..........

dirty four letter words

A young couple got married and left on their honeymoon . Back at home for a few days, the bride called her mother. "Well, how was the honeymoon?" asked the mother. "Oh, Mama," she replied, "the honeymoon was wonderful! So romantic..." Suddenly she burst out crying. "But, Mama, as soon as we returned, Sam started using the most horrible language. He's been saying things I've never heard before! All these awful dirty ...
